In keeping with the SNCL mission statement of providing the Cognos community with the lowest cost solutions, SNCL provides simple yet sophisticated software to help manage Cognos BI deployments. SNCL has developed software that the company feels is needed for successful Cognos deployments. SNCL distinguishes itself from competitors by providing software that is less expensive than consulting services. This is consistent with the belief that it is less expensive to buy functionality than to build (and maintain) it.
In addition to providing functionality through SNCL software at the lowest cost possible, SNCL has adopted an innovative approach to software distribution and support.
1. SNCL software is available for purchase and support through this Web Site, as well as through SNCL resellers. Prices of the software and support (As of March 31, 2005) are as follows:
2. Upgrades and bug fixes to the software happen on a continuous basis. With that in mind, upgrades are done by distributing the software to licensed users via e-mail notifications. The upgrade facility that is built into SNCL products automatically migrates the datA from the prior version to the new version. Upgrades can be conducted as often as patches and functionality upgrades become available. Migrations of data are offered as a service that is included in the support cost.
3. All Enhancement Requests submitted from a licensed user are considered, in order to make SNCL products truly customer driven; if it is deemed by SNCL as generic enough to be developed into the code, it will be redistributed to all other licensed users. For custom enhancements, the requestor is charged the amount of the development cost. This is because custom enhancements are deemed as Consulting off-site Development. The cost is determined by an estimate using an off-site development rate. Custom enhancements are not distributed with the product. Based on the request, on-site consulting may accompany off-site development, whose rate is based on the posted rate on this site See SNCL Services.
